The Awareness Campaign Reimagined

A look at some of the security awareness campaigns and learning materials I’ve created to make security approachable, memorable, and relevant.

This campaign used a video-game theme to make security awareness feel interactive, social, and rewarding. Employees “leveled up” by completing weekly challenges tied to key security behaviors — identifying phishing attempts, securing accounts, managing data, and reporting incidents.

Each action earned experience points (XP), which contributed to an organization-wide leaderboard visible in the learning platform. The leaderboard added friendly competition and recognition, driving engagement across departments and doubling overall participation compared to the previous year.

Campaign visuals and copy borrowed from retro gaming aesthetics, with bright icons, mission prompts, and achievement badges. The result was a fun, story-driven approach that turned learning into progress and made security something people looked forward to rather than avoided.

Each piece is built around a simple idea:
People don’t change behavior because they’re told to — they change when security feels clear, human, and connected to their everyday work.

I design the content using tools like Canva and Adobe Express, focusing on clean visuals, consistent branding, and messages that turn complex risks into relatable, actionable stories.
